America The Beautifula Cross Stitch Pattern by Sue Hillis Designs

I mostly love the look this pattern--although I do wish there were more of a variety of symbols rather than just the same few used over and over again. That aside, the directions are, honestly, awful. It would be helpful if the thread colors were listed in numerical order. It would be helpful if the DMC number (rather than just the color) was listed with long list of backstitching required. It would also be helpful if the backstitching list was in alphabetical order by element. I spent HOURS writing up my own directions that have made this much easier to follow. I know it will be a long project, but I look forward to completing it.

This is a very attractive map but as a previous reviewer stated it is pretty challenging. Some symbols are hard to read in the motifs so at times I just did my own thing. Also, I moved some of the symbols and/or state names slightly to make it more pleasing to my eye. All in all, the map looks beautiful!

Really cute, but pretty challenging!

As a map lover I just had to buy this, I've worked other Sue Hillis Designs and they come out beautifully. So I am anticipating a lovely worthwhile project.
