Colors used in this

I think this pattern has 9 colors noted, are the threads blended? I have the Ansel Adams Leaves pattern, gorgeous photo, yet almost every single stitch is blended, making it for me one huge headache. Any help with this would be appreciated before I purchase the pattern. Thank you.
