Butterfly Pattern 809a Cross Stitch Pattern by PinoyStitch

I thought these butterfly patterns would be fun and fairly easy to stitch. However I can't do any of them because of the "symbols". They are mixed with the dark colors and you can't even see the symbols and some of the colors are all so dark and simular. I tried to work this Butterfly Pattern 809 and just could not do it. I suggest all these butterfly patters should be done in black/white with symbols that you can clearly see. This review is meant for Butterfly Patterns 802, 804, 806 & 809. I am donatting these patterns to Volunteers of America.

This is from a botanical plate by W.H. Lizars. The colors are not very good and the name is incorrect. It's marked peridromia amphinome. The pattern is colored, with symbols printed in black, so it's very hard to tell the dark colors apart. All white squares with only colored symbols would have been easier to see. The pattern makes reference to "full, half, & quarter" stitches but doesn't show which are which. The only backstitching on it is the text. The finished picture doesn't look like any half or quarter stitching was done nor any backstitching and it needs some desperately.
