Les petites croix de lucie designs
I love these designs but am confused. On the website it gives the size of the design but on the patterns it instructs that the design is to be stitched over 2 of whatever fabric is suggested. If you stitch it over two the designs are twice the size listed. I have seldom if ever seen patterns that call for stitching over 2 on 14 count. Are they meaning to stitch with 2 strands of floss on 14 count and not over 2. Can this be checked into? Thanks

Well...Wasn't Expecting This...
Hi, everyone! Just got home from the hospital where I had surgery this morning to correct a hernia in my navel. I was not expecting this at all! I have had a small hernia for over a year and it was not a problem at all. Last Friday, I woke up and it was very swollen, hard, and purple. It was also very painful, so my DH took me to the local Urgent Care clinic to have it looked at. They immediately called in a surgeon to get his impression and he said it should be taken care of ASAP. So Monday, I had a pre-op physical and the surgery was scheduled for this morning. After completing the surgery, the surgeon said it looked worse than it actually was, but now was the time to get it taken care of before it got any worse. Right now, I have no pain, was given a massive pain block, so I should be good for today as far as pain goes. The pain block will wear off gradually over the next few days and then we'll see how it goes. I had to cancel Thanksgiving with my sister, but she's fine with it. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Oh crap! Has this ever happened to you?!?
Hey stitchy friends, I was happily stitching along on my latest pattern and needed to move my qsnap. That’s when I discovered I had stitched the WRONG direction on the fabric! It should have been vertically, NOT horizontally!!!😳 So now the frame I bought will no longer work! GAH!!! Has this ever happened to anyone?!? Luckily, I have some gorgeous fabric that will help finish it up nice still in the frame, but jeez!!!! Pay attention Amanda!!! 🤪🤪🤪

Maple Pumpkin Cheesecake ( For you, News!!)
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 20) 1 1/3 cup maple sugar ( I just use brown sugar!) 1/2 cup melted butter 3 8-oz pkgs. cream cheese softened 1 cup canned pumpkin 1 tbsp whipping cream 1 1/2 tsp vanilla 3/4 tsp Allspice 3 eggs, slightly beaten Caramel ice cream topper ( TRUST ME, YOU WANT THIS!!!)
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. For crust, in a medium bowl combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/3 cup of the maple (or brown) sugar, and melted butter. Press crumb mixture onto the bottom and about 2 inches up the sides of an ungreased 9-inch springform pan. Bake for 8 mins. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
2. For filling, in a mixing bowl beat cream cheese, the remaining 1 cup maple sugar, pumpkin, whipping cream, vanilla, and allspice with an electric mixer on medium speed until just combined. Add eggs and beat low speed until just combined.
3. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spoon filling into crust-lined pan. Place pan in a shallow baking pan. Bake about one hour or until center appears nearly set when gently shaken.
4. Cool in springform pan on a wire rack for about 15 mins. loosen crust from sides of pan with a thin bladed knife or a narrow spatula and cool 30 mins more. Remove sides of pan; cool 1 hour. Cover and chill at least 4 hours or up to 24.
5. (MY FAVE PART!!) Just before serving, drizzle caramel ice cream topping over cheesecake. Makes 10 servings.
E N J O Y!!!!! I make it every Thanksgiving and my family LOVES it. Had this recipe for like 15 years!! Happy Thanksgiving friends!!!!

Soft fabric
I'm returning to cross stitching after many years and want to finish a project I started in the early 90's. It's 12 charts of a Peter Rabbit story and apparently I was planning to make a quilt for one of my grandchildren or nieces or nephews. I'm sure whoever it was planned for is long grown! I'm having trouble matching the fabric. It's 18 ct. Aida, but very, very soft. It's more like baby blanket fabric, but definitely an Aida weave. Is anyone familiar with fabric like this?

Happy Thanksgiving Eve
Hello to all! I wish everyone single one of you a Happy Thanksgiving Day! I'm so thankful for the community of people here and appreciate how you guys keep me feeling blessed on my bad days...and good days too! I think the eye surgery went ok - still adjusting a bit but it feels better today. And yes, I do feel blessed & happy that my GS is living with me. He returned from his other grandparents yesterday evening & gave me the biggest hug! I surely missed him for a few days.....he entertained me with stories and dancing last nite.... Lots of decorating this weekend & his gf is coming to visit on Fri so a fun time for us. I came to work after my orthopedic appt this morning which was nerve racking...2 hrs for x-rays and a brief discussion with the Dr. Ridiculous! But...sometime in the spring a total knee replacement is needed to replace the partial one from yrs ago. Yikes! And I feel bad for your broken toe....that is no fun for sure...good luck on Sunday with the shoe. Soaking with Epsom salt is good too! Again, thank you all for being so supportive all year long! Stay stitching - in the right direction of course....LOL..... Hugs!!
