CRS 1713 Part 1 a Cross Stitch Pattern by Jan Hicks Creates

Part 1 Stitch Count: 158 × 188 14 ct (over 1) or 28 ct (over 2) - 11.3 x 13.4 in. 16 ct (over 1) or 32 ct (over 2) - 9.9 x 11.8 in. 18 ct (over 1) or 36 ct (over 2) - 8.8 x 10.4 in. 40 ct (over 2) - 7.9 x 9.4 in. 46 ct (over 2) - 6.9 x 8.2 Complete Design Stitch Count: 160 x 874 Welcome to the wonderful world of CRS 1713 which is filled with peacocks, deer, flowers, ladies in beautiful dresses and so much more! CRS 1713 is an antique sampler from the Saxon region of Germany. The person who stitched it, (CRS is all we know), used bright, spring-like colors throughout the piece, making it a feast for the eyes, and needle! I am releasing this sampler in parts. Parts that I hope will be manageable chunks for you to stitch along and keep up with my quarterly releases. Part 1 showcases the square floral motifs at the top, along with a stag and the gorgeous Lamb of God. You will notice that the motifs are facing several different directions. I believe CRS turned her long piece of fabric whichever way she needed to to make the stitching easier. There will be at least three more parts with the total stitch length as stated above. The model is stitched on 46 ct Antique Button Med Dark by Mason Linens using Hand-dyed Fiber silks. I have also provided the conversion to DMC as well as Au Ver a Soie 100.3 silk. If you plan on stitching the entire piece, you will need a special cut of linen. This design can be stitched on Aida as well as linen. Alternative fabrics: This design would be lovely stitched on any dark or medium neutral fabric. It would also be lovely on any gold-toned fabric. I recommend staying away from lighter-colored fabrics because it would compete with the colors in the design. Please honor the hours of hard work and creativity that I put into my designs. Make a working copy of the chart for yourself if you need to, but please do not share/distribute print copies or digital copies of this chart.
