It's spectacular and a story goes with it.
I made this baby crib quilt cover three years ago this summer and it is spectacular. Absolutely beautiful. I bought light flannel fabric with tiny grey elephants which the quilter (not me) used for the back cover. I made it for my great-niece, who is now expecting her second baby boy, again in August. This time I'll have to come up with another gift because the quilt, though it is easy cross-stitch, took me three or four months and hundreds of hours to complete. As I recall, the elephant alone took me three weeks and that didn't include the outline of the animal. So beware: I embroidered only at night, beginning about 10 p.m. because my free evening time begins late. I'd embroider and watch/listen to movies on TV, which became very addictive. I also wanted to finish the quilt by the time the baby arrived. I didn't. But I did end up in the habit of staying up all night to work on my project and now, three years later, my sleeping habits remain upside down and I still stay up till daylight working on the computer or whatever project it happens to be. So if you decide to make this quilt cover, be sure you have plenty of time, preferably during the afternoon or early evening, to work on it. As each animal takes shape, you'll be eager to see how the next one turns out. The finished product is even more delightful than it looks in the picture, and I'm still addicted to embroidering in the middle of the night. It was actually quite relaxing. loisandjack@me.com 6/16/20 at 2:28 A.M.
