Lunch Break - Stitched Backgrounda Cross Stitch Pattern by White Willow Stitching

When I bought the Lunch Break pattern (which I love) it was suggested that I use white aida cloth as the color would not really matter. The entire pattern is stitched with no aida showing. So that's what I bought. I started with a middle black bird and noticed right away that the white aida showed through my stitches. I was not happy with that so I ripped out and tea dyed the aida to tone it down some. This helped but still the bird looked more heather than solid black. I wanted solid black. So I ordered black aida and began again. I am much happier with this. I would recommend the black unless you can be satisfied with birds that are more heather in nature.
