Starry Snowmana Cross Stitch Kit by Janlynn

I really don’t like to do quarter stitches. I get messed up on the chart with them. I’ve put this one aside for now…I’ll get back to it at some point and try to finish it.

I bought this for my great-grandson. He is as good at stitching as I am. I have created a cross stitch addict! Regretfully, I do not have a photo of his finished work. It turned out beautifully!

Tweens could do this after doing one very easy cross stitch. Everything included, fast to stitch and very cute when finished.

I bought this thinking it would be a good quick project... Nope. It's small, which I figured, but the pattern is also small. If they provided a larger pattern, you could actually read the code in the qtr stitches rather than guessing. I dislike qtr stitches and in the end, most of them didn't even matter. I had plenty of floss to complete the project and it was adorable once complete, but I'd never do another. I purchase a couple others similar kits that I pray are easier to read and have less qtr stitches :-)

Perfect little gift for our nieces and nephews! The stitches are small so it takes a bit more concentration but they are worth it ;)

This is a cute little ornament to do and it came out very nice and fit into the frame easily. I just don't like lots of backstitch or outlining so I only gave it 4 stars

This project was a lovely one to do. Looks so pretty, I can't wait to put it on the Christmas tree. I backed it with white felt to finish it off.

You can not use the frame as a hoop, despite the description. There's no inner hoop for it. The frame is super cheap plastic. Weak and not very attractive. There's barely enough of the light blue floss -- if everything goes perfectly. If you make a mistake and break the floss removing stitches (or trim too early, and have to undo stitches back to the beginning of a length of floss), there will not be enough to finish that color. The diagram shows a lot of quarter cross stitches, but with the canvas and needle provided, they're impossible to do. There's no hole at all in the part of the canvas where regular stitches cross, and the needle is ball pointed. (Unfortunately, I did not have a pointy needle of the right size at home. It's a kit. I should be able to follow the instructions with the items provided.) This was an impulse purchase -- very cute at first glance, but I couldn't help being bothered, as I looked at it more, by the weird hearts and star mysteriously stuck to the snowman's body. And the overly busy-looking birdhouse hanging from the scarf is just weird. Luckily, there is enough white to leave the weird stuff out if you want. I got rid of both hearts, and replaced the birdhouse with a red star (yellow french knot), and it looks fine.
