Stitch is in English because I live in the West of Ireland, and my Gaelic speaking friends are from both the west or Ireland and Dublin, the East. Irish is spoken differently in the various regions and because the two sides couldn't agree on the correct word for stitch, I anglicised it. The sentiment however remains the same.
