I did this for the other great grandson who like giraffes. I used 28 count fabric over two threads.. But those spots were a bug bear to do with all the quarter stitches. The end result was a first place ribbon at our local fair.

Substituting materials for "Under Mama's Watchful Eye"
I'm looking for suggestions for substitutions for the project "Under Mama's Watchful Eye". Would 14 ct Wichelt Natural Aida cloth work instead of Wichelt Hand-dyed Jobelan in terms of color and overall effect? What would be a good substitution for the Rainbow Gallery Wisper?
Also I'm considering using DMC instead of Gentle Art Sampler Threads. Has anyone tried that and, if so, were you happy with the result?
